DriveU.auto’s platform is being used to remotely supervise an industry leader’s driverless passenger shuttles
Autonomous vehicle teleoperation company DriveU.auto is deploying its solution in autonomous technology provider EasyMile’s flagship autonomous shuttles.
EasyMile develops autonomous vehicle solutions that tackle identified use-cases very precisely, using common-core, unique technology. With deployments in more than 400 locations around the world, it is one of the most experienced providers in the market. The shuttles are used as standalone transport solutions, or for closing “first and last mile” gaps, extending public transportation networks.
Supervision of autonomous vehicles relies on a “human in the loop,” ready to intervene when an autonomous vehicle requires assistance to complete its mission. In some countries, it is a mandatory component for the deployment of autonomous vehicles.
Communication between the moving vehicle and the remote operator is done via public cellular networks, which can be unpredictable. For supervision to be safe and effective, consistent high-quality video connectivity with low latency is required.
The DriveU.auto supervision solution offers the industry’s lowest latency and highest reliability, based on its patented cellular bonding and dynamic video encoding technologies. DriveU.auto customers and partners – autonomous vehicle developers (cars, trucks and shuttles), OEMs, Tier 1s, developers of autonomous delivery robots – are using the DriveU.auto platform on roads in the EU, US, China, Japan and Israel.
“We found that DriveU.auto’s performance and ease of integration matches our expectations for Level 4 operations,” said Benoit Perrin, Managing Director of EasyMile. “As we continue to deploy more and more use cases for autonomous vehicles, we expect remote supervision to be a key component of our solution. DriveU.auto meets the high criteria we expect of our partners.”
”This collaboration between EasyMile with DriveU.auto is further validation of our uncompromising commitment to delivering best-in-class AV solutions to our customers. We are extremely proud to announce EasyMile as our partner and customer,” said Alon Podhurst, CEO of DriveU.auto. “Being selected by a frontrunner of the AV industry is an important vote of confidence in DriveU.auto’s solution and strategy, and we are thrilled to collaborate with EasyMile as they accelerate and scale their global footprint of autonomous solutions.”
