We are looking for a software development team leader to join our growing R&D Group. This position reports to DriveU.auto’s VP of Engineering and is a member of DriveU’s R&D leadership team.
Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of SW developers while owning hands-on coding tasks, and be accountable for the team’s timely design and development of effective software that meets the complex and fast-changing business needs
- Recruit, mentor, and manage an effective software engineering team
- Ensure the team’s approach to testing is fit for purpose and DriveU’s testing methodology
- Ensure integration of the software with appropriate monitoring and support tools
Requirements:
- Proven 1-2 years of experience in leading a development team, minimum 5 years total work experience
- Demonstrable high technical and analytical capabilities
- Expert level in quickly building, testing, documenting, and refactoring software
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills
- ‘Get the job done’ / ‘Make it happen’ attitude
- Big picture critical thinker with hands-on problem-solving skills
- Sense of ownership and pride in your performance and its impact on the company’s success
- Previous work experience in a dynamic fast-paced startup environment
Preferred Background:
- Experience developing embedded / automotive / robotics /multidisciplinary software products
- Experience with video technologies – encoding, decoding, transport, familiarity with H264/ H265/ AV1
- Knowledge of different IP protocols, interfaces, and hardware subsystems
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical / Computer Engineering / Computer Science or related field
